Personalized NJ Wedding Ceremonies       "From the beginning of my
life I have been looking for your
                                                                                                                     face..."    Rumi
Your dream day... Will your wedding ceremony be in a cathedral, a park, by a lake, near a great New Jersey beach, in a fabulous event space, or even in your backyard? Wherever you imagine your wedding ceremony taking place it will be uniquely yours!  As your wedding officiant, from our very first meeting, I will take the time to get to know you and begin to gain an understanding of who you both are, what your relationship means to you and what kind of wedding ceremony you want.  It's also okay if you aren't sure what you want- we'll figure it out!

I will meet with you to learn about your love story and your wishes and dreams for your wedding.  Together, we will craft a personal and unique wedding ceremony that reflects that story and honors your union!  We can do this in several ways:  We can write the wedding ceremony together, choosing readings, side ceremonies and any other traditions or unique features you'd like to include or, you can entrust me to take what I've learned about you and create the ceremony for you. You may also choose to write your own wedding ceremony for me to officiate( with a review from me just to check for appropriateness and legal language).

If you would like to enhance your ceremony, we can easily incorporate side ceremonies and rituals such as the Unity Candle, Handfasting, the Wine and Letter Box ceremony, Jumping the Broom, the Hand Ceremony, and many others. I am always happy to include new or unusual ideas, family members, friends and children in the ceremony.

Oh, and by the way, wedding ceremonies are not just for younger couples! I also very much enjoy creating very special ceremonies for people who, like me, have found their perfect mate later in life and may or may not be merging families

Of course, you always have final review and approval of the entire ceremony. It is your wedding ceremony!   You will have unlimited access to me for questions and concerns through email and phone, and yes, even texts, all the way up until your wedding day.  Whether you choose a traditional, spiritual, civil, interfaith or a totally "uniquely you"  wedding ceremony, as your Wedding Officiant,  I want your special day to be everything you've dreamed it should be!

Most importantly, your wedding ceremony will be as relaxing, enjoyable and smooth as possible for you, your wedding party and your guests.  We will create a wonderful memory together!

A note about my fees:  As every wedding ceremony is created for you and is as unique as you are, when we meet for your free, no-obligation consultation and discuss your wishes and needs, I will determine my fee and provide you with an exact quote. Generally my fees range from $275 for a local,  last minute  standard ceremony up to $600 depending on your particular situation and the location of your NJ wedding. There will always be officiants who charge less than I do, but few will provide you with the personalized care and service and the uniquely yours ceremony that I provide.

NJ Same Sex Wedding Ceremonies ~

“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were."

"Marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law.

The Constitution grants them that right.”  US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, June 26, 2015

Please Note: Couples who have a Civil Union already under the current NJ law, will have to obtain a marriage license and be married by an officiant/minister. Current Civil Unions are NOT grandfathered in.  You may of course still choose a Civil Union if you wish.

I am honored to be a Wedding Officiant for lesbian and gay couples in New Jersey. I believe that all couples should have the ability to enjoy all the rights of marriage to celebrate their love and commitment. Your decision to take this step and make this commitment is long awaited and a joyous choice and I am delighted to help you celebrate!

Vow Renewals ~

Whether you've been together for a few months or many years, a Vow Renewal Ceremony is a lovely way of reminding yourself, your family and your children of your commitment to each other and the depth of your love.  Perhaps you had a small wedding ceremony the first time around and you'd like to celebrate now with your family and friends.  Or, maybe you're celebrating your 25th wedding anniversary and you want to recommit yourselves to your marriage.  It is my pleasure to be able to co-create with you, a loving and meaningful ceremony.

Your Vow Renewal ceremony can be whatever you'd like it to be; anything from a completely traditional ceremony to a creative unique celebration of your partnership which includes your family and friends. Readings, music, grandchildren performing, are all options we can consider and incorporate in your Vow Renewal Ceremony. I would be honored to be your Officiant for this very special occasion!

Wedding Ceremony Locations~

There are many beautiful locations in the Garden State to have a ceremony.  Here are just a few ( really just a few!) of the hundreds of locations at which I have had the pleasure of officiating:

If you are looking for a small intimate setting, I am now working directly with the Inn at Glencairn in Princeton. The Inn is a lovely restored 1700's home with 5 guest rooms (1 is a suite) and the grounds include a red barn, stone patio and several charming outside structures.  Contact Lydia, the Innkeeper for more information about their intimate ( less than 25 guests) wedding packages and tell her I sent you!
